Whether you are concerned about your child's bite or your own, you should contact our office. Dr. Atkinson will carefully examine your child's tooth and jaw development, and discuss with you your diagnosis and treatment options.You will be able to ask him any questions that you have about diagnosis and treatment, and he will explain the options thoroughly to you and your child. There is NO CHARGE for this thorough initial consultation.
Dr. Atkinson is a Board Certified Orthodontist, with years of specialized training beyond dental school to specifically diagnose and treat bite problems such as an underbite, overbite, crossbite and crowded or crooked teeth. He has more than 25 years of experience as a specialist, straightening teeth and ensuring proper form and function.
By bringing your child in for his or her free consultation, you can thoroughly understand and plan for all of his or her orthodontic needs easily, and with no surprises.
Early treatment
It is wise for parents to bring children for an initial free consultation at 9 or 10, or younger if they have a concern. This enables Dr. Atkinson to correctly diagnose and handle any problems, and ensures that the teeth-straightening procedures work smoothly. Sometimes other dental work will be needed before braces can be applied, and Dr. Atkinson will refer you back to your family dentist with a plan and a time frame for the orthodontic work that is to come.
